CERTIFIED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • You assist in comforting and restraining our four-legged patients in exams, surgeries, and dental procedures
  • Specifically, you maintain and monitor anesthesia, collect specimens, run lab tests, place catheters, and take x-rays
  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally with a variety of individuals With professionalism and compassion, you communicate with pet owners, veterinarians, and our hospital team
  • You ensure an exceptional client and patient experience as you manage the flow from check-in, to the exam, to check-out We rely on you to keep accurate and thorough medical records
  • You help keep our animal hospital clean and our equipment sterilized
  • Required to maintain discretion and confidentiality in all professional matters
  • Ability to read, maintain, and monitor laboratory conditions and settings
  • Able to use or learn to use anesthesia equipment
  • Physical requirements: (items such as lifting, pushing, pulling, standing or sitting for extended periods of time, manual dexterity, walking etc.) Frequent lifting, occasionally need to lift up to 50lbs and climb stairs

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician (or a VT currently in the process of completing accreditation) to add their passion, skills, and education to our team - CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT certifications are preferred, but we will consider experienced techs who are not licensed
  • Veterinary Technician Experience: 2 years (Required)
  • Experience with anesthesia, venipuncture, placing catheters are required
  • A cheerful disposition, good interpersonal skills and a willingness to work and learn as part of a team are vital
